Born: London 1954
Gary Hall is a man of extraordinary talents. His training in industrial coatings and textures has taken him from creating high tech finishes on the factory floor to designing and producing beautiful art for apartments, yachts and even planes. Creativity, texture and colour have always been part of his life and yet he waited until 1995 to begin producing his remarkable style of art.
What defines an artist? Self-expression comes in many forms and no one can really understand the abstractness of art except the artist himself. Gary Hall is an artist who acknowledges exactly that. “My art is just an expression of how I feel at the time. Sometimes the urge to paint is so strong that the paintings become an outpouring of emotion – I never know what I’m going to produce or how it will turn out, or even when the image is complete. My hands work almost automatically and seem to know when to stop by themselves”.
Gary works with many different and innovative mediums- wood, metals, kevlar, fabrics and as of late industrial vinyl and plastics – each piece individual, unusual and exciting.
Gary’s art has shown at wine bars and eateries in and around London. His purpose in displaying his art in this way is to allow the viewer to actually “live” with his art for a while. A mood can be created and what Gary calls “Restaurant Art”, allows a public who may rarely visit a gallery, a chance to feel and understand the difference a great piece of art can make to a room, a space, an atmosphere.
Gary Hall’s work is currently hung in various corporate and private interiors.
